Please remember the children in Year 3 who will be receiving
the sacrament of Confirmation next Tuesday. Some Y6 children
have agreed to come along on the evening to sing at the service;
these children need to be at church for 6.15 – 6.20 pm.
Can you please send into school St Joseph Penny boxes.
On Saturday June 30th staff from the school have
organised a sponsored walk in memory of Steve Nebesniak.
Steve was a big Manchester City fan – season ticket holder for over
40 years – and we are walking from the school to the Etihad (City of
Manchester) stadium, a distance of about 8.5 miles. Steve’s widow,
Diane, has said she would like the sponsor money to go to Cancer
Research UK. If you would like to sponsor us on this walk, please
complete the slip below and return to school. Please don’t send
any money at this time, just the slip – we will collect money later.
Thanks in advance.
The school netball team were due to play Our Lady of
Grace in the final of the Whitefield and Prestwich tournament last
night but unfortunately rain stopped play.
Our chess teams (2 teams of 4) were in ‘action’ last
night, the A team winning all 4 matches and the B team winning 3 of
the 4 with the other game drawn. We have finished second in the
chess league this year; well done boys.
We were hoping to hold our first car boot sale this
Sunday. Because of the recent poor weather and because the forecast
for Sunday is poor, the event has been cancelled. Thanks for your
support for the tombola stall. We will use the items you sent in for
the next car boot sale.
