· Develop the transfer and use of information from KS 2 to KS 3 in all subject areas to enable the school to plan and group accordingly, and to quickly move the pupils on from their present level of attainment on entry to the school to their next level of development
· To continue tracking and setting targets from the data throughout KS 3 and into KS 4
· Development of a system where pupils who are unable to be monitored using NC levels are able to be tracked through the use of P-Scales

4. How investment in ICT will be co-ordinated with meeting the professional development needs of its teachers, including through the take up of training opportunities funded by the New Opportunities Fund (NOF)

· Make a list the teachers who have completed NOF training
· Make a list of the ICT courses attended either at the DTC or outside the LEA
· The school's training budget has identified funds and foci to support the hardware investment in the school and enable teachers to develop competence in enhanced use and delivery of ICT in the classroom
· NOF and other identified courses will be followed where the need is identified within the school
· The school has invested in a greater number of PCs, Laptops, Mimios, Interactive Whiteboards, Projectors, Cameras, access to the Internet etc. for interactive learning. The focus of the school's training will be supporting the investment that has been made in the greater range of resources to enhance the quality of teaching and learning across the curriculum

5. How the school will integrate the use of ICT for school management and administration purposes by adopting the standards set out in the DfES Information Management Strategy (MIS)

The school aims to integrate the use of ICT for school management and administration purposes, by enabling access to data for maintaining learning by:

· using data to track pupils progress in relation to individual and nationally expected outcomes
· regular input and analysis of pupil assessment data, to target planning, teaching and learning support at the needs of identified pupils
· to use the data to set appropriate learning targets for pupils and monitor their progress to wards them.
· to access the data system to monitor and track attendance patterns of pupils, generate attendance investigation letters, review the impact of pupil holiday patterns and general data collection and analysis
· to generate pupils IEPs quickly and efficiently to inform the next step of learning for pupils
· to collate and generate SEN data required for learning analysis by school, LEA and government
· to aid the assessment and reporting process of the school and reduce the work load of teachers in generating individual pupil reports to parents. Give quick and accurate access to pupil comments and targets for learning
· to aid the generation of the school timetable and the sharing of this through individual copies to all staff and pupils. Enabling access for allocating of teachers to classes requiring cover for absence / courses etc.
· To communicate with examination boards in the submission of GCSE and SAT information
· to enhance access to government information and communication through the use of e-mail and the internet
· to access and download the school Autumn package to aid in school self-evaluation and data analysis against national standards
· to integrate the administration and curriculum networks through sharing of common computer server(s), to allow access to pupil progress and testing information.

6. How the school's ICT facilities will be made available for the use out of normal school hours by pupils and for community purposes

the school's ICT facilities will be made available for wider community use through:
· lunch time clubs with specific daily foci, ranging from e-pals, game playing, curriculum research, school magazine / newspaper
· after school homework / study clubs
· parental further learning sessions, parental workshops and internet training
· use by governors to gain access to government information and Bury Governors website, communication by e-mail to the LEA and Government
· termly careers/employment sessions where parents and community are invited to use the facilities to research further employment, education courses and on-line learning
· to develop the school website for 24/7 learning. Homework, class subject notes and information in relation to learning activities, internet links and facilities for the electronic exchange of work with teachers
· links to the North West Learning Grid to access on-line educational support materials for key stages 1 to 5.

7. How ICT will be used to promote inclusion, for example by supporting pupils with special educational needs and by developing home-school links (including the development of a school web site)

· ICT will be used to promote inclusion by the development of a school web site with access to differentiated learning materials. The site will contain links to web materials, links to the NWLG which enable access to a range of appropriate on-line content 24/7.
· Links through the web site and by e-mail will allow the development of home-school communication and links
· The range of differentiated and interactive materials available on line and through purchase of software, will be tailored through a managed individual learning environment (ILE) to suit each pupil's individual learning needs
· access to learning and learning materials will be enhanced through the use and purchase of "switches", large computer screens and other appropriate computer access aids
· Gifted and Talented Pupils:
The use of computers as a tutor - through Integrated Learning Systems (ILS) will provide a very rich, highly structured individualised curriculum, customising and expanding each child's experience.

Therefore ILS can be the means to manage both acceleration through content giving the gifted child the opportunity to interact and explore materials outside the regular curriculum.

Through the use of the computer as a cognitive tool providing the means that will enable pupils to transcend the limitations of the mind, such as memory, in activities of thinking, learning and problem solving.

The use of computers enable the development and practice of higher order thinking skills in following the National Curriculum key areas of "Developing and making things happen" i.e. review, modify and evaluate work as it progresses, "Finding things out" i.e. selecting, classifying, finding and checking. "Developing ideas" i.e. develop, refine, test create, simulate and evaluate variables.

Through the use of Logo it enables more able pupils to test their ideas in a self contained computer environment, where children can test their ideas and hypothesise and experience mathematics in a concrete form. Developing further through the introduction of procedures and recursion. It is the powerful combination of procedures and recursion that opens many possibilities for thought provoking mathematical investigations.

Hypermedia will provide a mechanism for the organisation and presentation of information, i.e. text, images, sound, animation and video material, CD- Roms and the Internet. This enables the gifted child to be challenged by how they present and record what they know and feel in unusual ways. Therefore the expressive repertoire of the students is enormously enriched by the high tech resources.

Through simulations, ICT enables the gifted and talented child real or imaginary situations to explore and investigate. The purpose of modelling a situation is to highlight implicitly the most important elements by including them in the model, making the situation easier to understand and removing some of the clutter and confusion of reality. In this way the child will discover relationships between elements involved, construct their own knowledge and develop an understanding of the key concepts as the underlying model is revealed.

The internet allows the gifted child to express in a particular field. The use of E-mail develops the child's skills of communication at a distance.

The nature of ICT allows changes to be made to work, models, etc. easily, therefore this will encourage the exploration of alternatives. This interactivity is characterised by rapid response and dynamic feedback, evaluation and judgment constantly as the product is being created. This enables the gifted pupil to take the role of the professional.

8. Setting out the school's policy for the acceptable use of ICT, including secure access to the Internet

· Existing Internet policy
· The LEA / ISP provide a degree of security, the school also has filtering and virus protection software in-place and update annually
· As the LEA moves through its restructuring of broadband provision the school will gain access to the internet via the North West Learning Grid which is a "Walled Garden" there by guaranteeing secure Internet use.

9. An audit of levels of equipping, network use and teacher development currently being undertaken

Action by school - revisit the equipment and staff needs/development audit from previous development plan

10. Setting out the school's policy for managing developing and sustaining its ICT provision, including accommodation / access issues

Action by school - List the areas for development within the school building for network infrastructure development, revisit replacement policy from previous development plan

11. Arrangements for technical support

This is stated in the previous development plan - Unless changes have been made

12. The safe and environmentally friendly disposal of equipment.

The school will adopt Bury MBC's the Disposal of ICT Equipment policy.
