ORGANISATION OF CLASSES

Pupils will be placed into teaching groups of comparable ability to ensure effectiveness of teaching for all pupils after analysis of Key Stage 2 SAT levels and pastoral information provided by the primary schools. During the first few weeks of the autumn term there will be internal testing which can be used to ensure that pupils have been placed correctly.

This policy has been developed to enrich and broaden the experience for all pupils to ensure that each child attains his/her fullest potential through the National Curriculum and associated work. Extra facilities are provided – extended use of the Library and extra use of computers in the Information and Communication Technology rooms. In the following years pupils are grouped by ability within each subject area as far as possible.
