PUBLIC EXAMINATION POLICY

| All Year 10 and 11 pupils follow examination courses in most subjects. English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, the Sciences, ICT and RE are compulsory. PE is also statutory for health reasons. Pupils will also take a Design and Technology subject (from a range of at least five subjects) and most will be able to continue to study their Modern Foreign Language. A GCSE course called Construction and the Built Environment is also available as part of our specialist college remit. |

A variety of other subjects will also be offered and here choice will be possible. The actual number of examinations entered by individual pupils will be determined through consultation between parents and staff of the school. A detailed list of current Examination Boards and syllabuses is included towards the end of this booklet. The number of pupils gaining grades in each subject in the summer of 2006 is shown at the end of this booklet. |
