Curriculum - National Curriculum & R.E.
These subjects are considered compulsory and hence all children must study the following subjects at Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 :
English, Maths, Science, Design & Technology, History, Geography
Art and Design, Music, ICT and French.
Within each broad subject heading, there are detailed requirements as to what precisely should be taught. These requirements are called programmes of study. The programme of study is similar to the syllabus for each subject.
R.E.
Religious Education forms part of the curriculum for all students. The school is not of any particular religious denomination although statutory Religious studies are followed in accordance with the agreed syllabus of the Local Education Authority.
Collective Worship
Each day begins with an assembly; these vary from simple gatherings to more complex occasions that involve the work of the children.
Parents have a right to withdraw their children from such instruction and Acts of Worship. Those who wish to do so should notify the Headteacher in writing.
