Tuesday 24th November 2009

Tonight we set up our film club accounts on line in our computer suite and entered our reviews for the film 'The Cave of the Yellow Dog.'

It is very important that all members attend to fulfil this role of film club.

We wrote our reviews and then uploaded them on to the Filmclub website. If your review is one of the best, you could win a prize.

Collection time for tonight is 4.30 p.m.

Next week, Tuesday 1st December we will be viewing the first part of 'Howl's Moving Castle'. Certificate 'U'.

FilmClub Recommends

In this Japanese animated epic, Howl is the crotchety wizard who lives in a castle that not only stands on chicken legs - it can also grow and shrink in size. When Howl sees young hat-maker Sophie being persecuted by soldiers, he intervenes and saves her - but this makes the Witch of the Waste jealous, so she turns Sophie into an old crone. We follow Sophie's story as she struggles to make her way to the castle to get her curse reversed - while at the same time, the country begins preparing for a war. A fantastic and imaginative treat from the mind of Hayao Miyazaki, the director of Spirited Away.(Howl's Moving Castle was originally made in Japanese, but has been dubbed into English)
