Our governing body consists of the following members:

Vice-Chair: Mr B. Tonge

Teacher Governor: Miss L. McCombe

Foundation Governors: Father James Manock, Mr P. Heaton, Mr G. Hadfield, Mr. R. Nuttall, Mr P. Sillett, Mrs B. Eccles, Mrs C. Comac, Mrs M. D'Amore.

Parent Governors: Mr C. Huxter, Mr S. Herdson.

Staff Governor: Mrs. C. Kaye

LEA Governor: Councillor A. Cummings

 

What are Governors?

Governors are like a Board of Directors and make decisions about how the school is run. They meet at school at least once a term.

Governors are appointed to help:

  • decide what is taught.
  • set standards of behaviour.
  • interview and select staff.
  • decide how the school budget is spent.

School Governors have legal duties, powers and responsibilities. They can only act together, they cannot act individually. They submit a report to parents each year.

School Governors are:

  • parents.
  • teachers and non-teaching staff at school.
  • local council representatives.
  • Foundation Governors (Community Representatives).
