THIS WEEK THIS WEEK THIS WEEK THIS WEEK THIS WEEK

Healthy Fun Day:- with a double purpose

A great day was had by all despite the damp weather and the inhospitable conditions in our yard.

What is even more enjoyable is the news that your sponsorship has already resulted in £1500 being presented to Father Manock at our service and our mass this week. A separate letter has already been sent out to say thank you but this is just another chance to say those words on behalf of Fr. Manock.

Prodec KS2 and KS1 start next Monday Friday

St. Mary’s furniture clear out – last chance:- We are having a little bit of a clear out and want to share the opportunity with you. We have a range of desks and cupboards that we want to clear out. There are 15 children’s desks (wooden, lift top) and 9 teachers desks and several cupboards. If you are interested then leave your name with Mrs. Mallalieu in the school office or phone the telephone numbers above and leave a message before Tuesday morning because they are all being recycled then.

Parish raffle:- Coming home with all pupils today is one book of raffle tickets for our Christmas fair……yes, it is nearly that time again, (Saturday 25 November). Please sell them if you can, we have plenty more available.

SEAL assemblies:- The assemblies took place this week and the theme for the next half-term is ‘Getting on and falling out’.

Tesco vouchers:- We are still collecting for our next great freebie from Tesco and with your help once again we can improve our PE stock by simply collecting the free vouchers issued.

School photographer:- You should have an order form and a copy of the photograph taken in school. Please return the form as soon as possible and make sure that we can get the photographs back to you before Christmas. A reminder: the family photograph session will take place on Saturday 13th January and details will be coming to you upon our return after Christmas.

Francis House butterflies:- Many thanks to everyone who has purchased one of the badges for our Autumn term charity. The total raised is now £XXXX

Friends of St. Mary’s :- Another Webb Ivory order will be going off next week so please get your forms back in before then so that we can include you on it.  The next meeting for the Friends is on Monday 6th November at 7.15pm and it is our very special ‘Curry Monday’. Please come down, have your tea and chat and plan our future events.

NEXT WEEK & FUTURE NEXT WEEK & FUTURE NEXT WEEK & FUTURE NEXT WEEK

Road Safety Week:- Next week is National Road Safety week and we will be reminding children about how to stay safe near roads, especially now that the clocks have been put back and the evenings will be going darker. Reflectors will be issued to as many children as we can and we will be asking parents to make sure that children can be clearly seen.

Full Governors meeting:- The next meeting date is Wednesday 8th November and starts at 5pm. We need another parent governor and elections will be held in November.

Radcliffe Borough are back:- Wednesday (8th Nov) we have our curriculum support from Peter Lofthouse with our Y1 pupils. Then after school will be the usual soccer training for all. In response to requests for more after school opportunities they are also starting a KS1 (Y2 and Y1) football training session on Thursdays after school.

PRODEC:- The popularity of the Friday night fitness training for KS1 pupils has led us to ask those very fit Prodec people if they could do something similar for our KS2 children. They said ‘yes’ and so we are starting our new sessions on Mondays after school.

Girls only football:- Get stuck in. If you were wondering whether to do football or netball, you can now do both. Our girls only football takes place every Tuesday after school this term.

More and more sport:- As well as the after-school activities that are taking part we now offering additional sporting opportunities for pupils during curriculum time as well.

Science shows:- Next Friday (10th November) we will be inviting the science specialist Adrian Bowden into school to enlighten our children on matters scientific. Separate letters will be coming home.

Parents’ evening:- Our apologies but we need to move the date. Originally put on the calendar for Wednesday 15th November, we now have a double clash of dates.

The Autumn term parents’ evening will now be on Thursday 16th from 3.30pm to 6p.m.
